Create a Recovery Area at Home
When you bring your cat or dog home from surgery, it is normal for the animal to be a bit groggy and need some time to recover. That is why it is important to set up a comfortable, quiet area where your pet can rest away from any sort of chaos, including other pets and kids who expect to play with the animal.
Take Your Pet Outside Often
After bladder surgery, expect that your animal will need to urinate frequently. Do not be worried if it has a trace of blood in the urine and be prepared for your pet to have some accidents during the recovery period. It may take one or two weeks for your pet to get back to normal with going to the bathroom.
Monitor The Incision
You need to check your animal’s incision at least twice per day after the surgery.
